The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society kicks off our Fall series of Historical Programs with a History of the First Baptist Church of Metuchen.
The Program will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Church at 225 Middlesex Avenue (Route # 27), Metuchen, NJ. Church Historian, Marilyn Langholff, will lead a presentation that will include people sharing memories of the Church and displays of Church documents, some over 100 years old.
2008 marks the 100th Anniversary of the organizing of the First Baptist Church in the Metuchen area. They moved into their original Church in Metuchen in 1911 and then, into their current Church building in 1965.
There is no charge for the historic program and refreshments will be served.
This Program on the History of the First Baptist Church is part of series of Metuchen-Edison Historical Society Programs that began in 2006 in which the Society partners with local organizations to learn about their history. Previous Programs have been at St. Lukes Church and the Fugle Hummer American Legion Post.
